Knox-Box®

In order to allow firefighters immediate entry into commercial and residential properties without forced entry, damage or delay, Sagle Fire District uses a designated key box system known as a Knox-Box®. Properties that usually require a key box according to Idaho Fire Code are:

  • Gated communities
  • Commercial buildings that use, store, or manufacture hazardous materials
  • Buildings equipped with fire sprinkler systems and/or fire alarm systems that are monitored by an outside Central Station
  • Other properties where fire department access will be delayed as determined by the fire code official

Each Knox® key box purchased by a property owner is keyed to a single master key controlled by the fire department. Go to www.knoxbox.com to see the variety of Knox-Boxes® available. If you have questions on Knox-Box® placement, please contact Sagle Fire District at (208) 263-9541.
