Chief Robert Webber

Robert Webber Hello and welcome to Sagle Fire District’s website. I want to take a second to thank everybody that has taken time to welcome my family and me to the area; it is very much appreciated, and has been key to my successful transition into the District. Over the last few months I have been able to audit all processes, guidelines and capabilities of the District, and I am very pleased to report that the state of the District is very healthy. Hard work and a focused approach towards the future by the Sagle Fire Commissioners, past Fire Chiefs and our Firefighters have solidly positioned us to continue to be a successful and reliable service provider for our community long into the future. Because the District was turned over to me by Chief Goodyear in this condition, combined with his personal guidance on all local issues affecting the District, my transition has been seamless, and I like to refer to it as having been “turn-key”. For those of you that know Chief Goodyear, please thank him for the fantastic job he did for us when you see him around. One of the biggest issues facing our District today is the low number of active Volunteer Firefighters we have. We are currently engaged in an area wide recruitment drive to bolster our staff with more volunteers. If you are physically capable of arduous physical activity, you can pass a criminal background check, and you posses the desire to help your neighbors during their times of need, please come down to the fire station on Gun Club Road during normal business hours and talk with us to see if you would be a good candidate for our department. The District pays for all of the required basic training (which is conducted locally), and provides for all of the protective equipment needed to safely work as a Firefighter and pre-hospital care provider. There is no greater form of community service, and frankly, I believe that you would be hard pressed to find anything to be more fun and rewarding than this. Come in, have a cup of coffee, meet our staff, get a clear understanding of what our expectations of you will be, and ask us about our incentive program. Time is running out to get on board with us this year, so please don’t put off getting an application turned in. I encourage you to check back on this page in the near future, as I will change the content frequently, and provide you with current status on various District programs, public education topics and upcoming opportunities for the public with our Fire District. I look forward to meeting you, and I wish to say that it is a privilege to serve you.
