The making of a fire truck
If you're like most people, you probably think that fire trucks are
ordered much like cars and trucks. Nothing could be further from the
truth. Every fire engine is custom built to meet the needs of the
specific fire department. It takes up to a year from placing the order to
receipt of the engine. Once received, the work begins again to
outfit the engine with all the equipment needed. The Sagle Fire District
has been busy preparing the specifications for a new engine which will be
built using the grant funds we received along with the matching funds you
have contributed. This long wheel base, 4 wheel drive engine is
specifically designed for the roads and conditions we deal with. It
will feature a 750 gallon tank and a 1250 gal. per min. pump.
